Before the Throne of God Above

Good morning! Today is the day that the schools celebrate President Lincoln's birthday, so I have the day off. Yeah, love days off from work. The list of things I want to get done is huge but it is fine with me if I just get a few things done. What I hope to get done is to work outside in my yard and garden, get my Valentine's ready (I bought a pack of the school age ones with animal tatoos- mainly to send one to my sweet niece), mail them and my thank you cards from Christmas, to clean the kitchen and to post a few more posts later in the day.

For now I want to share with you one of my favorite songs (there are many more of my favorites) we sing at church. This song beautifully complimented the sermon from 1 John 3:19-24.

Before the Throne of God Above by Chartie Lees Bancroft Music by Vikki Cook, 1997 PDI Worship

Before the throne of God above I have a strong and perfect plea,
A great High Priest whose name is love, Who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is graven on His hands, My name is written on His heart;
I know that while in heaven He stands No tongue can bid me thence depart,
No tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair, And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look and see Him there, Who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died, My sinful soul is counted free;
For God, the Just, is satisfied To look on Him and pardon me,
To look on Him and pardon me.

Behold Him there! The risen Lamb, My perfect, spotless, Righteousness,
The Great unchangeable I AM, The King of Glory and of Grace!
One with Himself I cannot die, My soul is purchased by His blood;
My life is hid with Christ on high, With Christ, my Savior and my God,
With Christ my Savior and my God.

This song will be on my mind while I work outside today. Wishing you all a Christ filled day.
