Baseball is Over

Congrat's to the Philies for winning the World Series. Pedro Feliz was happy that he got traded last year. Thankfully, the Dodgers were defeated in the National League Championships. There was a let down this year at the end of September when my boys were cleaning out their lockers and not going into the post season.

Almost don't know what to do with myself now that baseball is over for the 2008 season. So many evenings were spent listening to the radio or watching the idiot box and enjoying America's favorite pastime. If I was out and about I was always listening to the car stereo. I loved the day games when I would be at work. We would have the radio on in the locker room and would try to catch up on the score in the few minutes we had inside. Always enjoy going to the ball park too with my dad or with the whole family for my dad's birthday.

So, from now until end of March I will have to fill my time with other things.

First Rain of the Season

Today the first rain of the season came. It was so lovely. The weather report says that we should have more rain tonight (might sleep with my slider cracked to hear the pitter-patter on the roof and ground), some tomorrow, lots on Saturday and showers on Sunday through Monday. Yeah, I have no plans on Saturday except to enjoy the beautiful rain.

My mom, sister Amy and I all love the rain. The only thing that I don't enjoy about the rain is that it makes my joints hurt and ache badly.

The rain also reminds me of one Trinity's favorite songs that Nana always sang to her, The Itsy Bitsy Spider. Go ahead you can sing it, you can even do the hand motions, I won't tell anyone.

Double Cuteness

Jen sent this photo to me today of Trinity and Joey. They are so adorable. Joey looks like he just visited the milk truck. I love 'em. I will be able to go and see them in about 10 days for Trinity's 3rd birthday!

Getty's Are Coming to Town

Several years ago I first heard the song, "In Christ Alone" by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend and fell in love with the rich lyrics. Keith and his wife, Kristyn, write 21st century hymns. Their songs cause my heart and soul to worship my Savior, the God of the universe. On November 2nd, the Getty's will be performing at a near by church. I am excited to have a wonderful worshipful evening. Here are the lyrics to a song that we have started to sing at church. Picture taken from Google Images.

"The Power of the Cross"
Words and Music by Keith Getty & Stuart Townend
Copyright © 2005 Thankyou Music

Oh, to see the dawn
Of the darkest day:
Christ on the road to Calvary.
Tried by sinful men,
Torn and beaten, then
Nailed to a cross of wood.

CHORUS:
This, the pow'r of the cross:
Christ became sin for us;
Took the blame, bore the wrath—
We stand forgiven at the cross.

Oh, to see the pain
Written on Your face,
Bearing the awesome weight of sin.
Ev'ry bitter thought,
Ev'ry evil deed
Crowning Your bloodstained brow.

Now the daylight flees;
Now the ground beneath
Quakes as its Maker bows His head.
Curtain torn in two,
Dead are raised to life;
"Finished!" the vict'ry cry.

Oh, to see my name
Written in the wounds,
For through Your suffering I am free.
Death is crushed to death;
Life is mine to live,
Won through Your selfless love.

FINAL CHORUS:
This, the pow'r of the cross:
Son of God—slain for us.
What a love! What a cost!
We stand forgiven at the cross.

More Photos

Oh my goodness. My heart was about to leap out of my chest on my way to work a few weeks ago. I took this through the windshield while driving. It is against the law in California to talk on your cell phone but it is not illegal to take a picture with your digital camera.
This was taken yesterday up at Lassen National Park. Dad and I went up to close up the cabin for the winter and we decided to take a ride up to the park. My heart said, "the mountains will declare the majesty of the LORD!"

This picture is for you Trin Trin. These cows were hanging out in a field with Lassen in the background. They sure were watching every move I made.

Just a mountain barn. I'd say in a few years it will be laying on the ground.

The shadow does not give this picture justice but it shows what dad and I paid for gas yesterday on the the way home. $2.69 a gallon. Yes, that is right. The prices are finally going down. I paid $2.99 at Costco the other day.

All of us went out to dinner for Grandma's (or in Trinity's case GG-Great Grandmother) birthday. Trin and I are showing off our paper hats that I showed her how to make.

My Mom is the best Nana in the world. And boy does she love Trinity and Joey, and they love her so much. Trinity loves to be with Nana and Papa.

The colors are changing and turning so beautiful. Some areas are just amazing. I love the fall because it means cooler weather, rain (Lord willing we will have more rain this year than last year), getting rid of my farmer tan, planting my winter garden and eventually spring will come and that means time to get ready for my summer garden and summer vacation.

Jen and the kids were up last weekend and we went to a local pumpkin patch.

I love my Trinity Love.

A few weeks back my Grandma, Mom and myself went up to Apple Hill to celebrate my Grandmother's birthday. Mom and I took the day off from work. Apple Hill is beautiful country. We all had a memorable time and look forward to going again next year.

Here is the birthday girl herself picking (not stealing!) a Rome apple.

Here are some pretty cosmos. I took this picture for my sister Amy. She wants me to take pictures of pink flowers.

Just thought this was a cool picture. These are red delicious. I did not get any of these, only Rome, Fuji, Gala and a few Granny Smith's. My plan is to can homemade apple sauce, apple butter and make apple jam for my dad.

Just thought this was cool with all the crates stacked up.

Here's an old water wheel.

When this picture was taken these sweet grapes were two weeks away from harvest and pressing.

I got some delicious pears too.

Thanks for your patience

As you know, postings have not happened here for awhile and were scarse a few months before my last post. Thank you for hanging in there with me. My sister and Steve S. have told me that they want something different than Pinky's Pizza.

God has been doing a good work in my heart and life over the last 4 months. He has been refining my faith, testing areas in my life that need improvement, pushing me to trust Him more with each passing day and faithfully loving me along the way. The desire to post has been there but honestly, my heart was divided with all the emotions that have been going on inside of me. Most of these emotions have needed to be between my sovereign God and myself. Let me assure you that you don't need to be concerned for me but praise the LORD for making this child more into the image of Christ my Savior. I am reminded of James 1:2-4 and Romans 5:1-5

Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,
knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance
have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in
nothing.

Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through
our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by
faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of
God. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that
tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance proven character; and
proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God
has been pured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to
us.
My prayer is that would continue to refine me and that I would be able to say that I consider my trials as pure joy, that I would exult in them, that I would have peace with God and that I would have great hope that does not disappoint.
