The LORD has been refining me greatly with my new job. There are several refining rods He is using with this job but the one I will mention today is sickness. From September to a few weeks into January seemed like I was with a cold or recovering from a cold and this cycle seemed to repeat itself constantly. New job, new germs. Guess the saying could go, "what is yours will be mine". Last week the season of better health came to a halt with a positive test for strep throat. Thankfully, today I am past the feeling of swallowing dry gravel.
The last 2 days I have been laying it pretty low key. In times like this I have to fight the feeling that I am being lazy. Thankfully, I don't have children and a husband to take care of. So, I am thankful that in this round of sickness, I had the desire to spend more time with God. Yesterday I read a fiction book based on the life of Tamar. Today I read several chapters in Genesis to see how the author came up with her thoughts of Tamar's life. I was then able to spend some time preparing for tomorrow's sermon from John chapter 5 and to pray to my Father in Heaven.
Regardless of what goes on in this life, God will never leave or let you down. He is ever faithfully working out His plan. He is good. Need to wait upon the LORD!
Here is a song we sang last week in church. If you would like to listen click here.
Everlasting God
Chris Tomlin
We will wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord (repeat)
Our God, You reign forever
Our hope, our Strong Deliverer
You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint You won't grow weary
You're the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles
